23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

NOTES

What does TRUTH look like in our society today?

It’s become variables. It changes from person to person or depending on the situation. It’s no longer grounded in anything that stands.

Statements rule the day that claim TRUTH is up to individuals. Ones like “speak your truth”, “tell your story” or the best one “do you”.

But my question is… Do we as human beings have the right to do so? Maybe free will some how allows this?

2 Peter 2:1-2 

Paul to Timothy about false prophets

1. But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed.

John 14:6 

6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

2 Timothy 4:3-4

3. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4. and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

Jeremiah 17:9-10

9. The heart is deceitful above all things,

    and desperately sick;

    who can understand it?

10. “I the Lord search the heart

    and test the mind,

to give every man according to his ways,

    according to the fruit of his deeds.”

We should be able to completely trust and depend on TRUTH! 

If you can’t, you walk unsure and in FEAR!

If you can, you walk sure and in FAITH!

Psalm 119:160

The sum of Thy Word is Truth, and every one of Your righteous rules endures forever.

1.  was talking today with a good friend of mine Randall Lewis. We were talking about a bunch of different things but we landed on a topic that really struck a chord with me. He was talking about how a close family member would always say “Experience is the best teacher”. I've always agreed with that Sentiment myself. Because you feel or go through an experience weather good or bad, you typically gain a lasting lesson from that. But he said to his love one “that was not true” “but WISDOM was the best teacher”. He explained that wisdom gained could stop a mistake or misstep.
