    Paris Marx is a Canadian tech writer and host of the award-winning Tech Won't Save Us podcast. Paris is also the author of Road to Nowhere: What Silicon Valley Gets Wrong about the Future of Transportation.

    On May 5th through 7th the 2023 Mobilizing Data for Justice conference brought together activists, community leaders and critical researchers from around the world for skill building, community outreach and research collaboration at Concordia University's downtown campus in Montreal.

    On a new episode of Unpacking the News Invisible Institutions' Megan Linton and host Andre Goulet spoke with multiple presenters including conference lead organizer Dr. Chris Hurl, the Information Mobilization and Public Accountability Collective of Toronto's AJ Withers, Winnipeg scholar and activist Kevin Walby from the Centre for Access to Information and Justice, RenovictionsTO's Patricio Davilla and Montreal's Parc-ex Anti-Eviction Mapping Project about how activists and critical researchers are deploying techniques like mapping and countermapping to visualize social justice issues in new ways.
