    HighTide holds the climate crisis in its name; a daily reminder of our responsibility to act now – with imagination and creativity. We see climate and social justice as inextricably linked and believe that theatre can help rehearse a better future for us all.

    A sea mist descends.

    The hound howls.

    Sodium streetlights twitch.

    A falcon soars above, on the hunt.

    Gather close for an evening of chilling, contemporary tales and bewitching new folk music from the ‘Haunted Counties’ of East Anglia. Ghosts don’t always stay in the past.



    This is an audio version of the 2023touring theatre production of the same name. A HighTide production in association with Shakespeare’s Globe, Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds & Harlow Playhouse. Ghost Stories by Candlelight is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, and by East Suffolk Council.
