• Not a Reward
    2024/09/06
One of the most beautiful things about salvation in Jesus Christ is that we cannot earn it, and we could never even deserve it.

When I was still dead in my sins, Christ loved me! And He sacrificed Himself to save me and give me life that is truly life!

    Ephesians 2 says…

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

This means that when you share the Gospel with others, you’re not bragging about your own righteousness, for sure. You’re not shaming others for their sin.

You’re simply talking about the grace and the love of God. The love that He showed you when you did nothing to deserve it. And you’re then offering others the chance to believe and receive that amazing gift of God’s salvation.

    Will you share it today?

  • We Will See His Face
    2024/09/05
Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror. But then, we shall see face to face.

These are words from 1 Corinthians 13.

Have you ever looked at yourself in a warped or damaged mirror? You look, and you think: That doesn’t look like me. It’s a poor representation of who I am.

These verses are reminding us that this is how we see. We don’t understand everything about the world or about God. We see Him, but not fully. We don’t even see or understand ourselves clearly.

But one day, and I can’t wait for that day, we will see Him, God, face to face. And one day, all will be clear.

Always remember, there is hope with God.

  • An Act of Service
    2024/09/04
When we share the Gospel with people, we’re also making a commitment to serve others lovingly, just as Christ did Himself.

It’s the abundant life. It’s kindness, right? Mercy, love, sacrifice.

    This is a beautiful thing!

And it means that when we share Jesus with people, rather than trying to accuse them of sin or position ourselves in a superior way, we’re actually humbling ourselves, serving them- speaking the truth in love.

2 Corinthians puts it this way…

You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake.

If there’s someone in your life who needs to experience the love of God, you can serve them by sharing the Good News.

  • Fix Your Eyes
    2024/09/03
There was a time in my life when my days were full of grief.

I had just lost our third baby in a late-term stillbirth. I was dark, confused, depressed. I didn’t understand why God hadn’t answered my prayer to save our child.

In the midst of this season there was a verse in 2 Corinthians that helped to lift my grief. So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

I had been looking at my grief, but as I began to lift my eyes, I slowly began to believe in faith for healing and I found comfort in God’s presence.

Always remember, there is hope with God.

  • The Brightest Light
    2024/09/02
Who Jesus is, and what He came to do… is a beautiful, miraculous thing.

    In 2 Corinthians, it’s described this way…

For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so that we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

The gift of Jesus Christ is like the first light that ever was…when God first separated light from darkness at the beginning of the world. Christ living in us is how we get to experience the glory of God!

This is a gift and we can share it with others. When you allow yourself to become amazed at the gift that God has given us in the person of Jesus Christ, then you just naturally want to share that amazement with others.

Let the light of the world shine out from your heart. Share the beauty of Jesus, today!

  • Just a Veneer
    2024/08/30
In Hollywood, there’s a famous road with all sorts of fake grocery stores, movie theaters, and homes.

It’s where a lot of famous movie scenes are filmed and it looks real; it’s enticing, and glamorous. But actually, the whole set is made of flimsy plywood and lots of paint.

Like this street in Hollywood, many people walk around wearing a veneer or persona. We try to portray ourselves in a way that shows we’re really someone special; we act like we have it all together. I remember doing this when I was in college.

After I received Christ as my personal Savior, I no longer needed to wear a veneer. I didn’t have to impress people any longer or try to be someone who I was not. I felt peace in knowing that my real identity now belonged to God.

Are you wearing a veneer? If so, run to Jesus! Rest in who He says you are.

  • Are you broken?
    2024/08/29
I was recently speaking with a group of women in a prison in Panama.

As I shared my story of hope, I could tell that many of these women were so broken from the inside out. They were once girls with dreams and plans, ready to love and be loved- to have a life.

I couldn't help but think of the words from Psalm 51 as I considered God's posture towards these women: "A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise."

Do you feel broken today? You might not be in a prison, but your spirit is broken. Maybe you wonder, what is God's posture towards you? Can I remind you?

He does not despise you. He loves you. He's calling you. He's saying, let me heal you. Let me restore your hope.

  • Unworthy
    2024/08/28
A few years ago we had a festival in beautiful Myrtle Beach.

I remember it as if it was yesterday... the boardwalk and the sand, the smell of the ocean... And, I remember the people.

One woman, in particular, stands out in my memory. She’d resisted the Good News message but had lingered to talk. She became frustrated trying to describe her desperation. And at one point I said, “You feel unworthy?” And at that she exclaimed “Yes! That’s the word! I’m unworthy!”

And that is exactly it. We are all unworthy. That’s the beauty of God’s grace. It’s for unworthy people.

Hebrews 9:14 describes the work of that grace when it says that by the blood of Jesus, God will “cleanse your conscience from evil works, so that you may serve the living and true God.”

If you know someone who feels unworthy, share this verse with them. It’s life itself!

    This is Andrew Palau.
