Mammograms and breast cancer: the myths, the facts and the details of what it’s really like... ...today, Dawn Butler MP chats to Dr Liz O’Riordan. She's a Consultant Oncoplastic Surgeon at Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust. In 2015, at the age of 40, Liz was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, which is somewhat ironic as she's a breast cancer surgeon. In the last few months, she had a local recurrence and has started treatment for it. She started blogging about her experiences as a doctor and a patient - and wrote ‘the Complete Guide to Breast Cancer’ in 2018. She's got her own podcast called ‘So Now I’ve Got Breast Cancer’ and her new memoir ‘Under the Knife’ was released last month.
