  • #7 The IELTS Listening
    2025/01/24

This episode is all about improving your overall listening score.

I give an overview of the parts of the listening test, important information you need to know, what to expect and ways that you can prepare for the listening exam.

I suggest different podcasts such as my own, The History of English Podcast, Lingthusiasm and Lexitecture, in order to get exposure to different accents and language learning at the same time. I recommend science podcasts to get exposure to the topics and particular features such as numbers and measurements that you are likely to get in the exam.

I also emphasise the importance of being aware of homophones and minimal pairs, as these are frequently used in exams to trick students.
