A medium is a person who claims to have the ability to communicate with spirits or entities from beyond. This communication can take various forms, such as; hearing voices, seeing visions, or feeling sensations that they interpret as messages from the deceased.

The practice of mediumship has ancient roots, with early examples found in shamanistic traditions where shamans communicated with the spirit world to guide their tribes. However, mediumship as we know it today, gained significant popularity in the 19th century with the rise of the Spiritualist movement. This movement was marked by public séances and the use of tools like Ouija boards to communicate with spirits.

One of the most famous early instances was the Fox sisters in New York, who claimed to communicate with spirits through rapping sounds. Despite controversies and instances of fraud, mediumship continued to evolve. As technology developed in the 20th century, psychic mediums followed. First came television. And now, social media. Social media platforms have now become a new way for Mediums to connect with an audience and gain popularity. Now anyone in the world is just a finger press away from accessing a psychic medium, and in turn, the chance to communicate with a lost loved one.

While some people believe strongly in the abilities of mediums, others remain skeptical and view mediumship with caution. But what if they’re true? I’m here to investigate the phenomenon for myself.
