このコンテンツについて
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens to discuss several topics, including in light of what happened this past week in the NBA with the New York Knicks and Tom Thibodeau, what it would take for Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula to put Sean McDermott on the hot season or even fire him.
Under Thibs, the Knicks won at least 50 games in back to back seasons for the first time since the early 90's, made the playoffs four of the past five years with at least a first round win in the last three years, and made the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in 25 years. Despite all that the Knicks upper management decided Thibs had taken New York as far as they were going to go under him and fired him.
That got Patrick wondering what it would take for Pegula to ultimately sour on McDermott given some of the parallels between the two teams. McDermott has led the Bills to consistently good regular seasons, division titles and even playoff wins but has hit a wall every year in the playoffs, with that wall usually being Kansas City. The guys discuss some of the similarities and differences between Thibs and McDermott and try to paint a picture of what it would take, realistically for Pegula to decide that maybe it's time to move on and find a coach that'll get them over the hump. Of course, that coach may ultimately be McDermott and that's discussed too.
Also, the James Cook situation isn't getting better per most recent reports and the guys have thoughts on that. In another Bills topic the question is posed if you'd sign up for 775 yards receiving from Keon Coleman this season right now. That plus Joe's Mt. Flushmore of crappy Sabres suits, Patrick's "Finish the Sentence" segment and plenty more.
Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red’s at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. We consider them THE most underrated spot for wings, pizza and other great food in Western New York plus it’s a great place to drink and have a great time. Also big thanks to Imperial Pizza and their two locations (1035 Abbott Road and 1655 Main Street), home of not only great pizza and tons of other delicious eats but also the best everyday lunch special in town.
Special thanks to local Buffalo band, Orange Zestfor allowing us to use their awesome single, “Old Friends” as the new official intro music for Talking Buffalo. Check out Orange Zest and be sure to support not only them, but local music!
