Dr. Ryan Hewitt (in his own words):
In 2010, as a newlywed, a young doctor of chiropractic, and an inexperienced business owner, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
The next five years were a whirlwind of trying to launch a business, be a good husband, and figure out how to lead my life. The stress was overwhelming, and I unknowingly found an escape: CrossFit. It became my outlet, not just physically but emotionally, helping me carve a path in fitness and identity. I poured countless hours into pushing my body to the extreme, seeking validation and answers within myself. I competed locally, regionally, and even internationally, making connections and finding a community along the way.
However, behind the scenes, my life was falling apart bit by bit. My business was struggling, and I leaned heavily on my wife, Kendra, to manage our marketing, taxes, legal issues, and accounting. The strain on our marriage was immense, and resentment grew between us.
I convinced myself she didn’t love me anymore, while I remained focused on extreme physical challenges, letting the important things in my life slip away. Eventually, my body started to break down too—herniated discs, torn hamstrings, knee and ankle injuries, and even staph infections. By 2017, I hit rock bottom: on the brink of divorce, facing failure in my business, and dealing with deteriorating health.
That was my wake-up call. I chose to surrender to God and lead my life by faith.
Today, after 14 years of marriage, my relationship with Kendra has never been stronger. We've had a beautiful daughter, Lilly, and I've tripled my business revenue while launching new ventures. At 45, I’m living what I call the “Weaponized Body” lifestyle—feeling, looking, and performing better than ever before.
