  • The Science of Uncertainty
    2024/11/21

Today, we’ll be dipping our toes into small particle science. Now, bear with me. I do not have a degree in physics and I’m probably going to do a terrible job of explaining. And yes, I am equal parts daunted and fascinated by the subject. But thank you for being here with me and thank you for letting me be here with you.

I hope my nosey, internet badger qualities will make up for the fact that I may indeed be burrowing into things I don’t understand in an attempt to make sense of the complicated business of being human.

  • For when you feel like nothing you do adds up.
    2021/05/29

In the southern tip of breathtaking Africa, you will find one of the largest ethnic people called the Zulu.

Sowubana is a famous Zulu greeting that translates to “I see you.”

I see you with my heart, and your heart sees me.

    Sowubana, dear reader.

I see you quietly working to build yourself, heal, create new paths, and rebuild old ones. On the days you feel like none of what you do adds up, please know someone understands you. Nothing up close makes sense. It’s when we look from afar that we get to see the whole picture.

  • When you aren’t where you want to be in life.
    2021/05/10

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.” — Steve Jobs

Human beings are not naturally attracted to the work. Many like to talk a big game, but only a few walk it like they talk it.

We’re constantly at war with what we want and what we’re willing to do to achieve it, which ends up in nothing getting done. And that is the last place you want to be stuck in.

Learning to #enjoytheprocess helps you build strong foundations by reconnecting you to the heart of why you do what you do.

It may not always be pretty, and a lot of times, it feels more like a chore rather than something magnificent.

But when you step back and take a moment to appreciate how far you have come, you’ll be grateful for all the steps you’ve taken.

  • Why are we so afraid of being alone?
    2021/05/09

As an attempt to dissuade young women (and maybe some men) from investing themselves in half-hearted relationships simply because they fear loneliness, I give you this podcast episode about the natural art of separation.

I don't mean to ask the question, "Why are we so afraid of being alone?" as an attack. On the contrary, I want to bring our concept of "alone" to a new light—a time to discover who we are and create meaning in our lives without thinking that our self-worth is tied to our relationships, or the lack of it.
