Ideal Fishing Conditions Await Anglers in LA on September 15, 2024

  • サマリー

  • Good morning folks, it's a beautiful day for fishing here in Los Angeles. Today is September 15, 2024, and the sun just rose at 6:34 AM. We'll have daylight until about 7:01 PM, so you have ample time to get out on the water.

Checking the tides, we experienced a high tide this morning at 3:56 AM and we'll see a low tide at 10:28 AM. Another high tide is expected around 5:25 PM. These tidal changes can impact fish activity, so plan your trip accordingly.

The weather is looking excellent today with clear skies and temperatures ranging from 65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds are light, blowing from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph – perfect conditions for both shore and boat fishing.

Yesterday's fish activity was highly productive across various spots. Anglers reported a good haul of calico bass, sand bass, and mackerel. The most successful catches came from using live bait, particularly anchovies and sardines. For those using lures, swimbaits and plastic grubs in natural colors were highly effective.

A couple of hot spots to consider today are the Santa Monica Pier and the waters around Palos Verdes. Santa Monica Pier saw a lot of action with anglers reeling in a decent number of mackerel and perch close to the structure. For those heading out near Palos Verdes, the kelp beds have been teeming with calico bass and rockfish.

Don't forget to try the flats around Marina del Rey for some halibut action; live smelt can work wonders here. Meanwhile, muscle and shrimp baits have been productive for surf perch along Malibu's beaches.

That's your fishing report for today. Tight lines and good luck out there!
