あらすじ・解説
In this final episode of our podcast series on the Book of Jonah, we delve into the fourth chapter, where Jonah reacts to God's mercy towards Nineveh with anger and frustration. Unable to comprehend why God would spare such a wicked city, Jonah sits outside Nineveh, hoping to see its destruction. God provides a plant to give Jonah shade, but then sends a worm to destroy the plant, and a scorching wind to make Jonah uncomfortable. When Jonah laments over the plant, God uses this moment to teach Jonah about compassion, pointing out Jonah's concern for the plant despite his lack of concern for the people of Nineveh. This chapter highlights Jonah's struggle with understanding God's mercy and the broader perspective of divine compassion. We'll explore themes of anger, grace, and the boundless nature of God's love, emphasizing how God cares for all creation and desires repentance rather than punishment. Don't forget to stay until the end where I will be answering a few questions from my audience. Check out new episodes every Monday and Friday!
