• Episode 151: #Catastrophe #WhatHappened #Kakistocracy
    2024/11/18

Cathy and Troy react to the news that Donald Trump, convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, and noted fraud and probable traitor, will once again be President of the United States. The reason? An uneducated electorate finally swallowed our democracy.

And his first acts as president-elect are a nightmare. A Russian spy for Director of National Intelligence? Sure. A pedophilic sex trafficker to head the Justice Department? Why not. An anti-vaxxer as head of Department of Health? Great idea.

    Buckle up brothers and sisters.

The only bright side is Trump is already projecting such a terrible presidency it will hopefully finally divide Republicans, and Dems with no power can sit back with popcorn as the MAGA movement tears itself apart.

  • Episode 150: #ElectionDay #Kamala #OctoberSurprise #PuertoRico #IowaShock
    2024/11/04

Cathy and Troy LIST the roughly 8 or 9 October surprises that rocked the Trump campaign just over the last week, with possibly the most significant being losing Puerto Ricans and other Latino voters after an offensive comment made at a Trump rally by a shock comedian calling Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage. Then culminating in the release of new Epstein tapes that reveal a WHOLE lot of ick about Donald Trump only days away from the election.

The Trump campaign has completely collapsed, Trump is sundowning, and Kamala has been dominating at the absolute best time. All of this revealed in late breaking polls that show the race may not even be close after all, with late deciding voters breaking in double digits for Harris, and a STUNNING poll coming out of Iowa, where one of the most accurate pollsters in the nation has Kamala up by three points in that state.

If Kamala is leading in ruby red Iowa, that spells absolute doom for Donald Trump in places like Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona.

The Election is here. Get out and vote. Let's bring it home people, and show Trump and MAGA the door once and for all.

  • Episode 149: #CognitiveDecline #OutFoxed #BaierDown #Kamalot
    2024/10/21

Cathy and Troy discuss Kamala Harris' brutal takedown of Bret Baier during an obviously set up ambush interview on Fox News. Despite being designed to make her look bad, Kamala came away looking stronger than ever.

Donald Trump has completely gone bye bye. His campaign team cites exhaustion after he cancels event after event. But one Town Hall stands out, as Trump refuses to take questions from the crowd and instead slowly sways on stage to music for 40 minutes, while a dumbfounded crowd wonders wtf is going on?

Now imagine the media coverage if Biden had swayed silently on stage to music for 40 minutes without speaking. We literally had to invent a term: "sanewashing" to describe how the media treats Donald Trump, and its pathetic, because if Trump wins journalists will die.

And we put on our tinfoil hats to delve into conspiracies around the potential invoking of the 25th Amendment, which provides a method to rapidly remove a president over incompetence, if Trump becomes President, as the 2024 election draws near.

  • Episode 148: #CoupPart2 #HurricaneOfLies #Asheville
    2024/10/07

Cathy and Troy break down the fire hose of lies on the internet surrounding the federal government's response to hurricane Helene. MAGA has successfully weaponized messaging around disaster relief to play on anger and frustration for votes, and yes scapegoat migrants yet again.

No FEMA is not taking people's property. No survivors are not only receiving $750 dollars while we give billions to Ukraine or to house migrants. No people are not being denied resources. No FEMA is not out of money. No Biden did not take money out of FEMA's disaster relief budget to help migrants.

Trump is the only President to divert funds away from disaster relief to the border. He's also the only President to deny federal aid to a state, when he said no to California in 2018 during wildfire season.

Two former Trump aides told Politico that decision was in fact political. He only changed his mind when he was told there were more Trump voters in Orange County, CA than the entire state of Iowa.

And, Cathy read and annotated all 165 pages of the released January 6th Trump indictment that Judge Tanya Chutkan made public at Jack Smith's request. And it's horrifying.

Cathy and Troy give their historian perspective on just how much of a threat Donald Trump is to the Republic, how it compares to the scandals of Nixon, Reagan, and George W. Bush, and why, one month out from the election, Americans need to know the forces that want to rip away their democracy are actively at work setting up for round two.

Cathy is joined by friend of the show Ryan, the Just Buy Less Coffee version of Steve Kornacki, our electoral big board correspondent, to discuss the math on getting Kamala Harris to 270 electoral votes in what will be one of the closest elections in U.S. history...if the polls are right...which they probably aren't.

But how will we know if the polls are wrong in Trump's favor or Kamala's? Ryan and Cathy lay out some predictive signs for early in the evening on election night that will give clues as to whether it's time to break out the champagne, or put away the champagne and break out the whiskey.

  • Episode 146: #Terrorism #NoAccountability #FedUp
    2024/09/19

Cathy and Troy break down the second assassination attempt of Donald Trump. Do the words of the man and party create an atmosphere of ongoing political violence and terrorism?

Especially when the Haitian community in Springfield is currently being terrorized by MAGA lies with no accountability, and Arab Americans testifying before Congress experience hate in a committee hearing on hate crime?

Speaking of terrorism, Israel just matched terror with terror by engaging in one of the most horrifying and audacious attacks in history.

And the Federal Reserve slashes interest rates for the first time in 4 years, signifying finally a soft landing for inflation without a corresponding recession. Economics teacher Cathy breaks down what this means for the pocketbooks of Americans.

Cathy and Troy are back and Troy is broadcasting from Spain, as Kamala Harris makes Swift work of Donald Trump in the 2nd presidential debate. We break down the highlights and lowlights and breathe a sigh of relief to once again have a candidate that can form a coherent sentence. She looked damn Presidential too.

Then Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala, rounding out one of the worst possible nights for Donald Trump.

And we reflect on the solemn anniversary of 9/11, and the infuriating tie to January 6th, as Trump supporters achieved what Al Qaeda never could: an attack on the U.S. capitol.
