Kuntee and Bheem had committed to the Brahmin that Bheem will go to the cannibal raakshas. When Yuddhishthir came to know of the decision, he was not happy. He criticized his mother for agreeing to sacrifice her son to save someone else’s son. Kuntee answered Yuddhishthir rationally on the basis of dharm. Yuddhishthir agreed with his mother’s arguments. Bheem went next morning to the place where cannibal Bak lived carrying with him large amount of food. After reaching there, Bheem started eating the food while calling out Bak. Soon the cannibal came out and was furious seeing someone eating his food. Bak attacked Bheem. The fight ended with Bheem killing Bak with his hands. Bak’s relatives came out scared. Bheem assured them that they would be safe if they did not attack humans. Bheem carried the dead body of Bak to the city’s gate, left it there and went away without telling anyone about it. Soon, people of the town learnt that Bak had been killed. They were full of joy and celebrated in honour of the unknown person who had killed Bak. (Mahabharat/Aadiparv/Bakvadh Parv/Chapters 161, 162 and 163). Mahabharat teaches one about every aspect of life. The struggle in the epic is the clash between two different life-values. Dwaipaayan Krishn and Vaasudev Krishn put in relentless and continuous efforts to establish and strengthen the same fundamental values and ideals for which Ram fought the war against Raavan. By learning and understanding this story and by adopting the learnings into our behaviour we can make our life happy and rich. ***** Website - http://samarthbharat.com/Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/hinduthinkerTwitter - https://twitter.com/AnilThinkerHubhopper - https://hubhopper.com/podcast/valmiki-ramayan-ke-ram/339465Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/samarth.bharat/Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/77iwIF32X1ATf6Uw7Trej4?si=c204e7c9ca3844fcYouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@valmikiramayan TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@samarth_bharatPlease donate by paying to 9406528010@paytm using any UPI app in India.***** Anil Chawla is an engineer - B.Tech.
