Welcome to the latest episode of Fremont Biz where we explore the heart and soul of Fremont County, Wyoming. In this episode we sit down with Kyle Washut, the 4th President of Wyoming Catholic College, who has been an integral part of the college since its inception in 2006.
Kyle Washut shares his unique perspective on leading this nationally recognized institution, where the focus is not just on academic excellence but also on fostering real human connections. One of the college's standout features is its policy limiting cellphone use, aimed at combating the issues highlighted in "The Anxious Generation" book. Kyle discusses how the college's outdoor program plays a pivotal role in helping students bond, develop trust, and rely on one another in a world increasingly dominated by digital interactions.
Kyle also addresses the recent change in downtown Lander's coffee scene. Wyoming Catholic College no longer owns Crux Coffee, which is now known as Sinks Coffee. Kyle shares how the college was pleased to see the man who originally started Crux Coffee for them take ownership of the shop, continuing its legacy under a new name.
