Legacy Keepers

  • サマリー

  • Unlike other podcasts, we’re not here to tell you OUR stories; we’re here to help you tell yours. But, first, A little background: Anita and Kare met more than 30 years ago when they were newly married and starting families. It was a time of big transitions, incredible frustrations, and incomparable joys. Whenever we would come together, we would spend hours trading stories from the journeys of our lives and of those we care about. Overtime, we began to notice that as our own loved ones and dear friends aged and often passed on from this world, we were at risk of losing the legacy of their experiences, wisdom, and lessons to share. So, we pooled our skills and knowledge and founded DaisyChain Legacy Publishing, a company that preserves life stories through collaborative memoirs. DaisyChain works with retirees and seniors interested in publishing a chapter-length memoir. Our published books are collaborative works meant as a gift for future generations. Working on this together made us realize that there are so many conversations to be had, and we wanted to give everyone a chance to talk freely! So, the Legacy Keepers Podcast was born! Our goal is to do whatever we can to keep legacies alive… …to listen and learn from each other and share moments, big and small, with an audience that extends beyond regular social circles. Join us here as we explore memories of childhood adventures, love and romance, family dynamics, traditions, career milestones, illness and tragedy, historical implications and so much more! We want YOU to have a forum to talk to us and our audience about your life story, so we can learn from you and help you live on, in this realm or the next.

  • Seventy is the Foothills of Old Age
    2025/03/06
In this episode, Kare and Anita chat with guest Elaine Hildebrand as she shares her memoir writing experience.
    About Our Guest:

Elaine’s love for the spoken and written word began early in life with diaries dating back to age ten. As an educator, encouraging students to read and write was her forte. Presently, her passion is travel, which marries well with writing. Elaine’s homebase is Winnipeg, Canada. When asked why she felt compelled to write a memoir, her answer is this quote from Leonard Cohen: “Seventy is the foothills of old age - that urgent invitation to complete one’s work.”
