Mention the word ghosting and the first thing that comes to mind is that someone you were romantically involved with or wanted to be romantically involved with has cut all forms of communication with you without explanation, but besides romantic ghosting there are many other forms of ghosting.
Professional ghosting: When a company or potential employer stops communicating with a candidate during the hiring process or when a colleague disappears from professional interactions.
Digital ghosting: This happens in online interactions—someone stops replying to messages or engaging with you on social media platforms.
Situational ghosting: When someone drops contact after a particular event or situation, like after a specific conversation or disagreement.
Breadcrumb ghosting: When the person doesn’t completely disappear but reduces contact significantly, leaving you uncertain about their intentions (sending occasional texts or likes).
Passive ghosting: When communication gradually fades away without a definitive cutoff, with replies becoming slower until they eventually stop.
and then there is Friendship ghosting: When a friend stops responding or engaging with another friend, often without warning or a clear reason....this is the ghosting we talk about in this episode.
