DESIGN YOUR FAMILY'S UNIQUE HOMESCHOOL THAT YOU'LL LOVE! https://littlebylittlehomeschool.com/blueprint

It might feel a million years away, but your homeschooler will eventually complete their home education years.

Are you preparing them now for that time?

I know, it seems silly to bring up that question when your child is only 8 years old. But, I have noticed 3 really amazing characteristics among homeschoolers whose parents were intentional.

Grab that load of laundry that needs folding and listen in so you can keep these characteristics as goals for your years of homeschooling.

    2025/06/09

DESIGN YOUR FAMILY'S UNIQUE HOMESCHOOL THAT YOU'LL LOVE! https://littlebylittlehomeschool.com/blueprint

When in doubt, read. Lol! But, really it's true. Having a rough homeschool day? Read. Need a little quiet time in the day? Read. Want your homeschooler to expand their knowledge and understanding of the world? Read.

I get asked often for specific books, curriculum, and plans and I don't often share those publicly. Today is a little exception.

My 3 homeschooled children became avid readers and it was a highlight for their days. Over the years, they've each read hundreds of books. And today, I'm sharing a few of their favorites.

Grab a pen and paper and copy down this list for summer reading or tuck it away to get started on next homeschool year.

  • 367. Do YOU Inspire Your Homeschool Children?
    2025/06/05

DESIGN YOUR FAMILY'S UNIQUE HOMESCHOOL THAT YOU'LL LOVE! https://littlebylittlehomeschool.com/blueprint

There are a lot of people looking to influence and thus, inspire your homeschool children. From social media platforms to corporations to friends and so on.

But, as homeschool parents, we should be intentional about being the first people to hold influence over our children. And that's easy when they are young and their world revolves around the family and home.

And as our children get older, it's easy to become complacent and just go through the motions and check off the to-do list.

Today's episode is all about whether you inspire your children. I have 3 questions that will get you thinking and hopefully making some intentional choices so that you can continue to inspire your children for the many years to come.

    2025/06/02

DESIGN YOUR FAMILY'S UNIQUE HOMESCHOOL THAT YOU'LL LOVE! https://littlebylittlehomeschool.com/blueprint

When you become a parent there are suddenly many decisions to be made. And some of those are seen as "controversial" within the culture you are raising your children.

Our 3 homeschooled children are all older now and can see the value in the decisions that my husband and I made. It wasn't always easy at the time to stick with our convictions, but the pay off has been amazing.

My list may be the same as you, slightly different, or completely different. And that is totally fine! The goal is to encourage you to parent intentionally and share what worked for us.

  • 364. What We Wish Our Mother's Told Us About Pelvic Floor Health And How You Can Guide Your Homeschool Daughter With Jenn Lormand Of Tighten Your Tinkler
    2025/05/26

DESIGN YOUR FAMILY'S UNIQUE HOMESCHOOL THAT YOU'LL LOVE! https://littlebylittlehomeschool.com/blueprint

Homeschooling is about way more than school academics. It's creating a relationship that welcomes open dialogue and discussion about anything and everything.

One of those topics should be our bodies and how we can take care of them well. And that includes our pelvic floor.

Today's guest is Jenn Lormand of Tighten Your Tinkler and we are specifically focusing on sharing all about pelvic floor health with your daughter.

Many of us weren't taught about this and had to quickly learn after a health crisis or bothersome symptoms. Our goal in this episode is to equip you with some actionable information so that you can begin to teach your daughter how to be proactive in her health.

As we mention in the beginning of this episode, it is rated G, but you may want to listen with ear buds or when your children aren't around so that you may gather information and dispense it as is appropriate for your family.

  • 363. Soft Skills To Teach Your Homeschooler This Summer
    2025/05/22

DESIGN YOUR FAMILY'S UNIQUE HOMESCHOOL THAT YOU'LL LOVE! https://littlebylittlehomeschool.com/blueprint

I promise that I'm not adding "one more thing" to your to-do list. But, the summer typically means a bit of a break from academics for homeschool families.

The curriculum is great, but if you child is not prepared for the world when they step out on their own, they'll have a lot of catching up to do, no matter what level of math they achieved, the science experiments you did, or the classic books they've read. Don't get me wrong, those things are fine. But, there is more to life than book knowledge.

There is real life where they'll need to know how to interact, get along with, and function well with others, if for no other reason than for their Christian witness.

I'm hoping you have a little more brain space with your usual routine set aside for the summer to focus on teaching and growing soft skills in your homeschooler of any age. I've got a lot of ideas for you...pick 1 or 2 that seem the most important and see how you can be intentional this summer!
