    2024/11/10

Living Off the Grid in the City Radio Show. Top 10 reasons why EVs are superior to ICEs. EVs are about the same in price as ICEs. EVs are safer and have more convenience features as standard. EVs are quieter and have a smoother, and more responsive ride. And, EVs are simpler, easier to maintain, and cheaper to service. EVs are much more efficient than ICEs, making them a smarter and environmentally friendly choice. • Top 10 reasons why choose an EV!
    2024/10/20

Living Off the Grid in the City. Top 10 reasons why you should choose an electric vehicle EV over an ICE. EVs are, hands down, a better choice for those ready to start driving a personal, or commercial vehicle. EVs cost less to own and operate on average, with some exceptions of course. EVs cost less to maintain because there are generally less systems to maintain. Also, charging an EV is still cheaper than gasing up your car. EVs are quieter and have packed more safety and comfort technology for similar cost internal combustion engined vehicles ICEs. EVs are also more efficient and friendlier to the environment, which take the top 2 places why you should make the smarter choice, EVs.

  • Is your power company ripping you off? part 16
    2024/09/26

Living Off the Grid in the City Radio Show. Electric companies are often involved in corruption, theft of funds, bribery, and cheating to gain millions and billions of dollars. These funds come primarily from rate payers, but also from tax payers. There are many high profile cases to see these. Some of these cases are discussed here. Also here, I discuss some little-known tactics used by electric companies to cheat you out of your money and make you pay much higher bills than you should. Enjoy. By Hector Vladimir. • 01 The science of electricity - Experiments
    2024/09/25

Learn about the law of charges, static electricity, and voltage and current with these home experiments you can perform using everyday items. 00:00 Law of charges experiment 03:20 Electroscope experiment 10:50 Potato battery experiment 20:19 Series and parallel battery connections experiment The first experiment was not successful due to not following the steps on the text, and using ineffective materials and supplies. I plan to redo this experiment on the law of charges soon. Just know that a electrostatically charged bodies with like charges repel, while those with unlike (opposite charges) attract. As I understand it. This attraction is due to the electromagnetic direction of flow around the object. And, also on the state of the atoms while positively or negatively charged. Please review chapter 1 The science of electricity for more details. • Solar energy for the poor - part 3
    2024/09/23

Living Off the Grid in the City Radio Show. Solar energy for the poor. This episode discusses the challenges for middle class to poor individuals and families to acquire and use alternative energy like solar. It is relatively expensive, it requires many commodities often not afforded by the poor, such as a permanent owned residence in a stand alone building. And, the financial incentives that often accompany renewable energy installations, are largely inaccessible by the poor. Here I detail these and other factors that keep these technologies away from the poor. By Hector Vladimir. Edited and updated 9-23-2024.
