  • 004 Finding The Light In Your Life - Guest Tiffany Fletcher
    2020/06/16

A darkened lighthouse never rescued anyone.

Today my guest Tiffany Fletcher is talking to us about how to find the light in your life. She shares about her childhood and growing up in an abusive home. She talks about the darkness she had as a child. Later in the episode, she teaches us how to find the light in the darkness of our own lives.

We are living in a world where darkness is very persistent and we need to find the light in their own lives.

Tiffany and I talk about lighthouses. Lighthouses are each unique. The pattern the different so you can know what lighthouse you are coming towards. Even the lenses are different.

Tiffany talks about ways we can dispel the darkness. We can do this through things like prayer. Prayer is one of the greatest forms of light that you can have in your life. She reminds us to pray for our enemies so the heavenly father can soften their hearts.

Tiffany also talks about other ways to bring light into our lives. Things like singing hymns and praises to God, speaking kind things to others, doing service, attending church, communing with the Lord, and journaling about the things in your life.

She reminds us to be patient in the process. God loves us and he is there for us. He is doing all he can to help us get through the darkness.

Tiffany gives advice for someone going through something hard, like she was in her childhood. Her advice was to find someone you can trust and allow them to help you in your life. The more we share, the more we realize we are all going through stuff. And we are not alone.

If you are struggling and wondering if God is there, pray, read scripture, and sing a hymn. The more you do it, the more you will recognize God is there.

Mamas- You are built for the storms and to give hope. Fill yourself with light so you can go out and rescue others from the darkness. As we invite the Savior into our lives, we will be able to overcome the adversary because he is the light and life of the world.

Please, share this podcast with a mama who might be going through something hard right now. Together, we can bring hope and light to the world.

  • 003 Brighter Days Are Ahead
    2020/06/08

Like many of you, I have had to worry about finances. A couple of times in our marriage, my husband lost his job. As a mom, you worry about how you will feed your kids. You worry about paying the bills.

Listen in for the full story.

We struggled for years. When my husband James and I got married, we had no idea what was ahead of us.  The heights we would ascend to and the valleys we would have to cross during our trials.

We have finally got a hold of our finances. Instead of worrying each month about our bills, we are seeing our debt go down.

Now my husband has an incredible job where he gets to make a difference in the world. And, I work from home, helping mamas around the world make an income online through an incredible system. My house doesn’t stay as clean as I would like. But my kids are happy and they are watching me work and fulfill my dreams. To me, that is more important than a clean house.

Why am I telling you all of this? I have felt I needed to tell this story for my descendants to hear. And, for others who might be going through the same thing.

I got through some of the darkest, most trying days I’ve ever had, and you can too! If you are going through something similar, you can do this! There is a light at the end of the tunnel! Brighter days are ahead!

  • 002 Never Give Up On Your Dreams
    2020/06/07

I have humbly accepted that I am doing this. I feel like this podcast has been directed by God. The Lord asks us to do hard things!

Almost 6 years ago I wanted to start a blog. I wanted to have a place where moms could come to and feel inspired and feel uplifted. To know that it's okay to have life be as crazy as it is. And in that crazy life, we can still smile be happy from it.

In August 2019, I was talking to a friend. She said, “Diana, you should start a podcast.” Yes! This podcast has been in my mind for over 5 years!

One day, I had an experience that made me so happy, so joyful. More joyful than I have felt in a long time.

I felt God smiling down on me that day.

I felt him tell me that all moms should feel this happy. We should all feel this joy. Then it hit me. I needed the name of my website and podcast to Mamas Living Happy.

Mamas, keep holding on to your goals. Hold on to your dreams! I know how it is to be in the thick of babies and toddlers and to lose yourself in motherhood. There is hope!

You may have ever felt that you wanted to do something more. Maybe you were like me, and you wanted to share your message, but didn’t know how where to start. If that is you, please contact me. I’ve found a community of amazing people who are walking me through this every step of the way and I love it!

Thanks for listening today. Please, share this with a mama who might need to be uplifted today.

  • 001 Mom is Not My Real Name
    2020/06/04

Welcome! I’m going to introduce myself and this podcast. You will also hear from a special guest who will tell you her story.

After I had my first 2 kids, I fell into a depression and anxiety. I've been more open about it in the past year. I remember when my two oldest were little and just feeling like the world was caving in on me. I felt like I couldn't get anything done, and feeling like I didn’t know what to do with my life. I got some help, but I still deal with depression and anxiety on occasion.

I feel like that ever since my first son was born, that I have been a mom. I get called Mom, like 7 billion times a day. But, Mom is not my real name.

On this podcast, I hope that you will find inspiring ideas to help you find more peace, purpose, and joy in motherhood. Honestly, to be called mom is a badge of courage that we should wear proudly.

As a mom living with depression and anxiety every day, I know that life can get tough. And some days, I have just felt really really lonely. There have been days when I have been too weak to stand. so I have done the only thing that I could do and that is kneel. I'm so grateful for a God in heaven who is there for me… Everyday. Don’t get me wrong, I have amazing friends and an amazing husband. I have had to learn how to overcome and live a joyful life.

For my first guest, we are going to travel through the time/space continuum. Anne is a woman who is very dear to my heart. Listen to the story of my great-great-grandmother. She is such an inspiration to me. Because of her faith, hope, and perseverance, I know I can carry on.

The courageous example of Anne, and many others like her, can inspire us all to be better, to do better. When our hearts ache, our feet are tired, or we face a fearful future, we can remember inspiring examples from the past and those around us and carry on.

Being a mama, I know from experience it can be lonely. We need to be there for each other, and that is what I hope for this podcast and my Facebook group, Mama’s Living Happy Tribe. We would love to have you join us

I’m so grateful for my mom and her wonderful example, that she taught me to serve others. I am also grateful for each time that someone has done something for me.

At the end of each episode, I give you a challenge that will help you become a better mama and a better you.

    1. If you need strength to carry on, I challenge you to find a story of someone who inspires you. Learn from this person, and draw on their strengths as you go through your trials.
    2. Find someone in your neighborhood to do service for. If you need help finding someone to serve, ask God. He will guide you to the person who needs you.

Embrace your messy beautiful life and enjoy every minute of it. Remember, that mom is not your real name either.
