    On today’s episode I speak with Ohio native Josh Copeland, Josh attended Fairborn High School where he was a standout in the sports of basketball and football. Josh was rated the 128th best safety prospects in the nation by ESPN during his Senior year. Josh elected to attend the University of Buffalo to continue this football career. After college Josh battled with anger, alcoholism, and many other issues as he transitioned into life after football. Josh later, with the help of friends and family was able to get on track and started supporting others where he found he had his greatest struggles. Josh is now the Chief Executive Office for Josh Copeland Speaks and Learning 2 Cope his motivational speaking and coaching platforms. Locally, Josh helps to support The Dayton Foundation where he assists in supporting the community, Josh also started a nonprofit called The Melanin Golf Club, where he supports providing golf equipment to underprivileged communities. In Josh’s spare time you can find him co-hosting his podcast called the Tips and Yips. Josh has dedicated his life to working with leaders who struggle with inner happiness and peace, Josh provides workshops, professional development, and life coaching

    On today’s episode, I speak with Tricia Roos, Tricia holds the position of Director of Coaching and Recruitment for the DIG Volleyball Club in Dallas, TX. Coach Roos resume’ speaks for itself, she has accumulated 420 wins in 5A and 6A girls Volleyball in the state of Texas. Coach Roos has brought her ladies volleyball teams to 8 state championships games, coming home victorious in 5 of those contests. Coach Roos started her dominance at Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, TX where is also took on the responsibilities as Director of Admissions.

    Coach Roos pushed education to her players and assisted many of them into playing collegiately at schools like LSU, Baylor, Boston College, SMU and many others.

    Now, along with being the Director of Coaching and Recruitment with DIG Tricia is an Educational Consultant, sought after Public Speaker and Author.

    It was my honor to bring her on the More Than Sports Podcast today to speak about her life in sports, but mostly about her book, When Wishes Change. This book is outstanding, its really part of why I enjoy talking about the symmetry of sports and life. Her book, When Wishes Change highlights the challenges Tricia and her family faced while learning of a fatal diagnosis of their daughter Annable and how being tied to sports helped her through the toughest times of her life.

    Welcome to the MTS Podcast where everyone has a story.

    On today’s episode, I speak with Quasean Nicholson, Quasean is a 1998 graduate of Southwood High School in Shreveport, LA. While at Southwood Qua received All-District and All-City honors in Basketball during his senior year. Quasean sits down with us today to speak about his transitions from Bethune to Turner then back to Bethune while in Middle School, Qua also discusses what he learned while playing on the Varsity team during his sophomore year and how each season was different from the next. After Southwood Qua signed with McNeese State where he spent a semester then took some time off before returning to the game of Basketball at Panola Community College in Carthage, TX, after a short time at Panola Qua moved to Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK before eventually completing his college career at Cumberland College in Lebanon, TN.

    After college Qua spent some time playing semiprofessional ball before eventually starting a nonprofit called Supermen for Christ where he currently severs as the President, Supermen for Christ serves the Shreveport area as a food pantry where they provide for families in need, along with that, they also provide housing for men that were recently released offenders. Soon after starting the nonprofit Qua was called to start a local church in Shreveport call Kingdom of God Ministries, here now you can find Pastor Qua preaching Jesus Christ on Sunday’s and Thursdays.
