    This is my final episode of Nobody Lessons. 

    I've journeyed through alcohol addiction for many years, and now I've come out the other side. The struggle is over, and all that remains is a new life where I choose to no longer numb and escape. I'm facing the beauty and challenges of life head on.

    We are talking about something that has been termed cognitive dissonance, and this means our conscious mind is saying one thing, while our more powerful subconscious mind is saying another.

    We know that alcohol is a sedative, that it's a substance that can numb, that can take the edge off, or lessen our pain - so what was I trying to numb? 

    In today's episode I take you on a brief tour of my life and some of the parts that I felt needed to be numbed or dulled down. 

    What started out as a very successful tool, didn't end that way. Alcohol not only numbs the pain, but numbs the joy as well.

  • EP17 - Attending a conference alcohol free

    As the title suggests, this episode is about my recent experience at a 3 day work conference. Ordinarily, these events are drenched in late night drinking sessions, but this one was different. This was my first ever conference event  where I did not drink any alcohol. 

    In addition to providing some of reflections on this, I also share an experience of mine with regards to a common trigger, that being tiredness. I share with you how I dealt with this.
