The Edmonton Oilers took a 1-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Final as Leon Draisaitl scored twice including the game-winner late in overtime in a 4-3 Oilers win. The winning goal came after former Golden Knight Tomas Nosek was called for a delay of game penalty after putting the puck over the glass. The Oilers scored on a play in which Corey Perry moved the puck fast to Connor McDavid who went cross-slot to Draisaitl who potted the winning goal. Edmonton trailed 3-1 in the game after a disputed Bennett goal was not overturned on appeal then the Panthers scored on the ensuing power play, as Brad Marchand scored. After that, Stuart Skinner shutout the Panthers for the final 57 1/2 minutes of the game. Rumor season continues, and the latest news has VGK and the Flyers in deep conversations for a trade involving RFA Nic Hague. And the NHL says no expansion plans in the immediate future.
