For episode 3 of the book club, I had on Detective Wolfman of Bloody Pulp and On the Beat to discuss John D. MacDonald's 1957 novel The Executioners AKA Cape Fear and the film adaptations by J. Lee Thompson in 1962 and Martin Scorsese in 1991.

Solo episode this time. Going to have alternating episodes with guests, hopefully, if all things work out as I want them to. Today is Japanese novelist Ryu Murakami's novel Piercing. Something of a morality play in Murakami's signature third-person (limited) psychosexual mania style. There was a film made in 2018. It's not bad, but I didn't talk to much about it here.
