    Youth unemployment is an urgent cross-border challenge affecting the lives and livelihoods of billions of young people worldwide. Creating more and better jobs is essential to the World Bank’s mission to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet. Good jobs are the surest way out of poverty, and as a fast-growing number of youth are entering working age, creating and preparing them for relevant, higher-skilled jobs is paramount to boosting prosperity. Linking these jobs with the transition to greener economies offers double dividends, for people and the planet.
