Welcome back to Perko's Podcast!
Well, it is my pleasure to introduce you to today’s guest, Clay Scroggins. Clay resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife Jenny and 5 kids. He is a speaker, writer and he creates content and resources on personal development for emerging leaders. Recently, Clay has gone through a major shift in his life that we talk about on the podcast where he resigned from his role of Lead Pastor at a North Point campus to pursue a career in writing and speaking. Clay originally graduated from Georgia Tech as an Industrial Engineer and then spent 20 years serving the local church.
Clay and I talk about the liminal space he is currently in, how to keep your soul sane in a season of change, and what things are looking like for his future. He has written three books including How to Lead in a World of Distraction and How to Lead When You’re Not in Charge. Clay is a mastermind at taking what is typically only written for the head of the company or the primary leader of an organisation and making it applicable to everyone.
Clay also has a new book that just came out on January 11th called The Aspiring Leader’s Guide to the Future: 9 Surprising Ways Leadership is Changing. Clay addresses topics such as vulnerability being a strength, how to perceive and embrace failure, how to build and gain trust, and how to not only brace for change, but embrace it as well.
