Take a deep dive into the world of psychotrauma and crisis response for both emergency personnel and the "silent victims"—those who witness a sudden emergency.
Co-hosts Dovie Maisel and Avi Marcus are joined by clinical psychologist Dr. Sharon Slater and Hadas Rucham MSW, clinical director of United Hatzalah's psychotrauma unit. Together, they explore the origins of the psychotrauma unit and how its interventions keep United Hatzalah's volunteers safe from burnout and assist in their general mental wellness. They also discuss the response to the Meron tragedy and how they assisted in Surfside, Florida, after the collapse of a condominium building.
