  • 'A Nice Indian Boy' stars Jonathan Groff & Karan Soni
    2025/05/30

This is the Queerty interview, where we bring you conversations with the most exciting LGBTQ+ voices in entertainment, activism, and beyond.

In ‘A Nice Indian Boy,’ Karan Soni & Jonathan Groff play Naveen and Jay, a couple looking to plan a big, gay Indian wedding of their own—even if Naveen's traditional parents aren't entirely thrilled about that.

The film nods to and playfully subverts many of the tropes of the romantic-comedy genre and the grand tradition of Bollywood cinema. So, with that in mind, we asked Soni & Groff: What movies—for better or for worse—shaped your understanding of love and romance at a young age?

  • 'Overcompensating' Stars Benito Skinner & Wally Baram
    2025/05/23

This is the Queerty interview, where we bring you conversations with the most exciting LGBTQ+ voices in entertainment, activism, and beyond.

Benito Skinner's (@BennyDrama7) must-see new comedy #Overcompensating is a hilarious, college-set coming-out tale, but it also doubles as a sweet origin story for one of the most formative friendships of our lives: that between a gay and his best girlfriend.

After meeting at orientation and a hookup-gone-wrong, freshmen Benny and Carmen quickly become on-campus conspirators and confidantes, and their relationship blossoms into something that makes ‘Overcompensating’ truly special.

Unsurprisingly, Skinner and his scene-stealing co-star Wally Baram (@wallybaram) have electric chemistry on-screen and off, which was immediately apparent when Queerty sat down for a chat with the pair about the gayest college classes they ever took, and so much more.

  • 'The Four Seasons' Stars Colman Domingo & Marco Calvani
    2025/05/07

This is the Queerty interview, where we bring you conversations with the most exciting LGBTQ+ voices in entertainment, activism, and beyond. In this episode, we're talking to Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani, who play husbands in the new Netflix dramedy, The Four Seasons.

The show comes from comedy icon Tina Fey, reimagining the 1981 Alan Alda movie of the same name, which follows three married couple friends who all take a little getaway trip together once a season.

This new series has that same structure, but with a few modern updates. Most notably, there's now a gay couple in the group, Danny and Claude, played by Coleman and Marco. Even as the husbands argue and quibble, they're a delight to watch thanks to the actor's fantastic on-screen chemistry. As it turns out, that's because Coleman and Marco were already good friends before they joined the project, and we have Coleman's real-life husband, Raul to thank for that.

We spoke to the two stars about bringing their friendship to the screen and some of their dos and don'ts when it comes to group travel.

    2025/05/02

This is the Queerty interview, where we bring you conversations with the most exciting LGBTQ+ voices in entertainment, activism, and beyond. Today we're talking to the director of queer romcom 'The Wedding Banquet.'

The film is a modern reimagining of director Ang Lee's groundbreaking 1993 romance of the same name. But instead of focusing on one relationship, it's really about a whole chosen family — played here by Bowen Yang, Lily Gladstone, Kelly Marie Tran and Korean actor Han Gi-chan in his first English language role.

Filmmaker Andrew Ahn joins us to talk about directing The Wedding Banquet, how Fire Island helped prepare him for the role, and the importance of honoring both Queer and Korean identities on screen with authenticity, — humor, and heart.
