  • Welcome back To the Table. We are back in Colossians, reading more of Paul’s letter to the church at Colossae. Today is really focused on Jesus. He is before all things, created all things, and holds all things together. He is reconciling or restoring all things to himself. Because of the cross, we can go from separated, hateful, evil beings, to holy, blameless, and beyond criticism before him. There’s a lot of good stuff here, and we’re just beginning to scratch the surface. I hope this encourages you as you tackle whatever it is that awaits you this week.

Tara Leigh Coble’s prayer for studying the Word:

    1. God, give me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
    2. God, let any knowledge I gain serve to help me love You and others more, and not puff me up.
    3. God, help me see something new about You I've never seen before.
    4. God, correct any lies I believe about You or anything I misunderstand.
    5. God, direct my steps according to Your Word.

Hebrews 1:3a - He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.

John 1:12 - For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.

Philippians 2:10 - so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth

Romans 5:9-10 - Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.  For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

Acts 4:12 - And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

2 Corinthians 5:20 - Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Colossians 2:9-10 - For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.
