Regenerative Farming: Paving A Healthier Future? - Usana Farm Interview

  • サマリー

  • Farming gets blamed for many of the world's problems, and in many cases this is right.
But what if there was a way to farm without causing all of these problems? Research says there is and this style of farming is called 'Regenerative Agriculture'.

Today's episode features an interview with JP and Pierre Winshaw from Usana farm in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Two brothers who have dedicated their lives to earning an income from regenerative farming methods, which is part of their contribution to feeding the people of South Africa healthier food and leaving nature in a healthy way afterwards.

Take away key points from this episode:

Emphasis is placed on meeting your farmer and truly getting to know how the animals and land are cared for before you purchase and support farms that might not care about either.

    • Biofuels - shouldn't the focus rather be on feeding hungry people instead?

    • Are your free-range eggs really free-range? Plus how to spot a healthy nutritious egg.

    • Regenerative farming allows the plants to take in dangerous CO2 and healthy soil can be built with the use of animals.

    • Is the food you are eating making you sick? Food can be medicine - get it wrong it can also be a poison.

    • Vote for the food you want to eat with your money (doing this can create powerful change against food industry giants).
