• 36: Tending, Not Tactics: A Regenerative Approach to Growing Your Business
    2025/05/28

Today’s episode begins in a rain-soaked woodland, the first drops falling after weeks of dryness. It’s a moment of relief—for the land and for me. Just after finishing a wild coaching session with a client, I’m walking among the trees, reflecting on a question that’s been showing up for both of us:

What do you do when you’re doing all the right things in your business, but the results just aren’t showing up?

In this episode, I share a simple but powerful metaphor that helped us both: tending a vegetable garden. When we’re building something regenerative—whether it’s a business, a creative offering, or a career—we can plant, water, weed, and enrich the soil. But we cannot force the vegetables to grow on demand.

    I explore:

    • Why trying to force results in your business often leads us back to extractive, manipulative tactics

    • How capitalism teaches us to equate effort with immediate outcomes—and why that mindset doesn’t hold up in regenerative work

    • The importance of patience, faith, and trusting the invisible growth happening beneath the surface

    • How to focus on what you can do: planting seeds (like offers and invitations), tending relationships, and nurturing your creative ecosystem

If you're in a season of slow or invisible growth, this episode is your invitation to step back, breathe, and trust in your garden. You are doing more than you know. And with time, the results will come.

  • 35. How ego holds us back from regenerative work
    2025/05/14

Finally the conditions were right for recording the podcast in the wild! Join me for an episode sat by a woodland stream, bathed in birdsong and providing a banquet for midges.

Today I explore my deepening relationship with nature in recent years, how it is led by a childlike wonder and has inspired me to re-center play in my work. I reflect on the ways in which ego - certainly my ego! - can hold us back from regenerative work that brings us joy and satisfaction. If internalised captialism, deep-rooted fears and unhelpful beliefs are blocking your regenerative path, listen in for a simple journaling exercise to listen to and release these blockers. The episode finishes with one of my favourite poems, a poignant reminder to do what we love, however we can.

    00.24: Play with me
08.18: How ego holds us back from regenerative work

19.56: Your one wild and precious life

This is the last week to sign up as an early-supporter for my audio course, where I'll share a library of playful invitations to connect with nature and unleash the wild within. Message me by Friday 16th May if you would like to take part (all details in the episode).

  • 34. The most JOYFUL conversation about marketing I've ever had! (Interview with Natalia Sanyal)
    2025/04/30

Natalia Sanyal works with humanity-first brands to create anti-oppressive copy that’s authentic, does less harm — and still sells. For many people stepping into regenerative entrepreneurship, that can feel like an impossible paradox, but this conversation shows you how it’s done.

I first connected with Natalia on LinkedIn while consciously rewilding my feed. Her content was a breath of fresh mountain air: alive, playful, and refreshingly unpolished. Natalia is explicit about her values, and honestly, it’s a joy to be sold to by her.

In this conversation, we dance through:

    • How Natalia came to focus on anti-oppressive copy creation

    • The ongoing work of de-corporatising and decolonising marketing

    • Why looking after your nervous system is essential in this work

    • The freeing power of doing ridiculous things

Natalia has been a guiding light in my own journey toward playful, authentic marketing and sales. I hope you enjoy this exploration as much as I did!

  • 33. Immersing in Nature / Being Instead of Doing in Business / Creative, Energetic and Playful Offers
    2025/04/23

Today's episode starts in an open meadow, the ground soaked with dew and the early morning sunlight just beginning to light up the tips of trees.

Immersing in nature is a key theme not only of this podcast but of all my work. Most of us have very little experience of what it means to simply BE in nature, not exercising, or walking the dog, just listening, observing and experiencing. In the episode, I share how my own relationship with nature has deepened over time, how I centre nature connection in my work with clients and some simple practices that you can try in just a few moments to really experience the natural world around you.

Building on these ideas, I share how the topic of being instead of doing is showing up for me in my work and why it's so important for regenerative business. I discuss some of the mistakes I've made in building my business and why I believe you already have everything you need for your own entrepreneurial journey. Hear about how I'm rediscovering creativity, play and joy in my business, planting offers and ideas like a gardener and cultivating my ecosystem with a child-like joy.

  • 32: Spring / Finding Meaning in My Podcast / Fears for the Soul of Business / Returning to Nature
    2025/04/08

The uncomfortable truth is that I started a podcast about regenerative work with expectations firmly rooted in extractive business strategy. Happily, things are about to change.

This is a new format episode—but more importantly, it’s grounded in a far deeper, more authentic motivation.

Listen in to discover the real “why” behind my podcast, and how I’m shifting my focus to a heartfelt exploration of what it means to be a regenerative entrepreneur. Not because I have all the answers, but because those of us who still believe in the soul of business are navigating dark times and stormy weather.

By contrast, this week has brought me so much joy through a return to nature: wild swimming, mini medicine walks, and coaching in the wild.

This episode is for you if you’re seeking a light in the dark.

    Topics for today:

00:00 – The Joy of Spring
01:50 – Finding Meaning in My Podcast
12:57 – Fears for the Soul of Business
    18:18 – Returning to Nature

  • 31. Build a business around your true value (not capitalism’s version)
    2025/04/02

Capitalism has very clear ideas about what makes us valuable—to capitalism. When we consider doing our own thing or creating our own business, this is often where we start. It’s also where we get trapped, because when we focus our attention on those things, we continue to prop up the very system we want to step out of.

Why are we so attached to the things capitalism values? Because we get more than just money in return. Our jobs are deeply tied to our identities and our sense of self-worth. Our jobs make us feel worthy, important, needed, successful, safe, secure. That’s why so many people stay stuck in jobs they hate and in companies that aren’t aligned with their values.

We’re afraid of the emotional holes that will be left when we can no longer ask our jobs to give us those things. When I sold the business I built over the course of 15 years, I no longer knew who I was. I didn’t know where to find my sense of belonging, self-worth, or recognition. What I know for sure is that I cannot ask my new business to give me those things and still consider myself a regenerative entrepreneur.

A regenerative relationship with our work and businesses requires us to find those things within ourselves and to know that we are—and always have been—enough, exactly as we are. That’s when we can build a business around who we really are and experience true joy, satisfaction, and purpose in our worklives.

  • 30: Creativity over consistency: choosing a business rooted in life
    2025/03/26

Regeneration is restoring life and life is inconsistent. Life is cyclical. Life ebbs and flows. It has flourishing seasons of incredible, abundant growth and then it has long, long seasons where you can't see anything happening. Where everything looks dead, quiet and still. That is what I choose for myself and for my business... to change with the seasons... to change as the mood takes me.

As I emerge from yet another period of illness (and the worst flu of my life), I am feeling into how I want to experience my business.

This is a no script, no notes, “thinking outloud” episode.

    ...creativity over consistency

    ...seasonality and cycles
    ...marketing without expectation

    ...being alive in business.
