  • Welcome back To the Table. We are finishing the last few verses of Colossians today, but those verses are jam-packed full of truth. We’re chatting about suffering, stewardship, mystery, and so much more. It may seem that this message was so specifically for the Colossians, but I’m grateful that Paul includes all these details in his letter. I love that Paul shares some of his “why” with them because it sets an example for us too. Salvation is the first step, a really important one for sure, but there’s so much more. A relationship with Jesus changes you. It changes everything. We hope that studying these 28 verses over the last few weeks has helped you grow closer to Him, and in the process, helped you point others to the true source of our hope.

Tara Leigh Coble’s prayer for studying the Word:

    1. God, give me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
    2. God, let any knowledge I gain serve to help me love You and others more, andnot puff me up.
    3. God, help me see something new about You I've never seen before.
    4. God, correct any lies I believe about You or anything I misunderstand.
    5. God, direct my steps according to Your Word.

1 Corinthians 9: 16-18 - For if I preach the gospel, thatgives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward, but if not of my own will, I am still entrusted with a stewardship. What then is my reward? That in my preaching I may present the gospel free of charge so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel. Matthew 28:19-20 - Go therefore and make disciplesof all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Colossians 4:12 - Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant ofChrist Jesus, greets you, always struggling on your behalf in his prayers, that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.
