In today's episode, Derek Malley and I sit down with Alicia Dale- ghostwriter and local investor here in Chicago. Alicia is living proof that the investor journey is anything but predictable!
In our conversation, we talk about her battle with hijacked credit, persevering through the '08 housing collapse, creating accountability with your tenants, and so much more. Listen as we recap the joys (and cautionary tales) of investing in real estate!
Alicia Dale is a ghostwriter for Leaders, Lawyers, & Change Makers. As a long-time entrepreneur she is a fan of real estate investing. She especially advocates for women, families, and friends to invest together. She thinks her key to success is building relationships with professionals including lenders, attorneys, realtors, accountants, and contractors. She insists that no one should ever be embarrassed and that no question is too small. While she has been lucky and worked hard, there is also great risk. It's best to go into investments with your eyes wide open. Or at least as wide as possible.
The attorney she references is:
John Elias, 312.782.3000, john@eliaslaw.com https://www.kickemoutquick.com/CHICAGO_EVICTION_ATTORNEY.html
While we advocate for consulting lawyers in all legal matters, Alicia used www.nolo.com to change her name. Alicia also wanted to share that she consulted the American Bar Association which has resources for free legal advice regarding the fraudulent credit issue.
The master craftsman that helped Alicia with her 100-year-old windows is Chris Mastriano of Master Johnny, Inc. on Chicago's Northwest side. Follow them on Facebook to see samples of his high-end, custom carpentry.
