TIANA WOODS

Tiana Woods is the lead singer/songwriter of LA hard rock based band, VARNA. She received her Music Business Degree from Musician's Institute in Hollywood, CA. Tiana was named 'Female Vocalist of the Year' in 2014 while VARNA is the first unsigned female fronted band to have had two consecutive Top 40 Singles ('Living A Lie' and 'Survival of the Fittest') on the Billboard Rock Charts. They have opened for multi-platinum rockers, Drowning Pool, on their "Hellelujah" Tour, and have won "People's Choice" from the Independent Music Rock Awards. Tiana lives in Los Angeles, CA.

ANDREA VASQUEZ

One of country music’s most promising new artists, Andrea Vasquez, blends modern country with her Mexican-American roots. Recognized as a top country artist in Nashville, Andrea’s undeniable stage presence and mainstream quality songs have earned her numerous accolades, including a Billboard feature, the coveted DISCovery Award from renowned music critic Robert K. Oermann of Music Row, and more. With video support from The Country Network and CMT, her “Moving Target” video climbed CMT Music’s 12 Pack Countdown, where she held a spot in the Top 5 for three consecutive weeks. With continuous performances including appearances at CMA Music Festival, Andrea also performs on her Nashville Hits The Roof Tour as well as with Song Suffragettes in Nashville. With several singles and a full-length album already released, her music has surpassed half a million Spotify streams and features on top playlists like Country Latino and New Music Nashville. Inspired by Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain, and The Chicks, Andrea continues to work on new material and is trailblazing a path for future country artists who share her Latino heritage.

On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville edition, we are joined by singer/songwriter, Kendi Jean, and country music group, 20 West!

KENDI JEAN

Kendi Jean is a Fort Worth based emerging Americana artist who jumped in boots-first to the Texas Music scene in 2020, merging her Motown roots from Detroit with her Cowtown Boots from here in Funky-town. Though most of Kendi's first released music falls straight into the "Texas Country" category, this soul-sister is just fine with blurring lines of music genres. "I really don't write music to fit into any one box, I write what comes from my heart and then I figure it all the labels for it only when I have to, " says Kendi. Her single "Your Eyes Are Lyin'" charted in the top 50 on the Texas Country Music Chart & spent Two weeks at NUMBER 1 on the Texas internet Radio Chart! Kendi has now seen 14of her songs onto the Texas charts since her debut, A Real Good handful, released in April of 2020.

This new-to-the-scene Singer-Songwriter may just be getting started, but she has definitely made some footprints in a short amount of time.

20 WEST

20 West is a Texas Country band based in Fort Worth, Tx, and was founded by Shawn Fitzgerald and Pete Franco. Within the first week together, they had their first song and first single, Bringing Me Back Home written and recorded. A second song, Just Go Away, was written a day later and also recorded. Then, after seeing what they had created, they decided to form the band itself in 2022.

The name 20 West was decided upon after singer Shawn was driving home from seeing good friend Rachel Stacy play at the White Elephant one night. He lived at the time off of I-20 West. He immediately texted Pete that he found the right name for the band. And so it began.

Next, Greg Kramer was added on drums, and Dale Sprankle was added on bass. The band then started back recording at Tonal Recording Studios with veteran producer Cris Hunter Marshall where the first batch of songs were also recorded.

The band released their second single, Baby Go Crazy worldwide on July 22nd. It spent two weeks on the CDTEX top ten most downloaded songs and is still doing well.

The next, and last batch of songs to round out the upcoming EP Bringing Me Back Home were recorded in January for a June 2nd release.

In 2021 Chapel Hart was inducted into CMT’s Next Women of Country, the institution that has been known to help up and coming female country artists such as Kelsea Ballerini, Ashley McBride, & Gabby Barrett... to name a few. This Mississippi trio’s music has reached fans around the globe earning them the title of “International Group of the Year” as well as “International Song of the Year” for the single “You Can Have Him Jolene” in Scotland. They were also nominated in multiple categories by the British CMAs including “Group of the Year” and “Album of the Year” for their sophomore release “The Girls Are Back In Town”.

The trio has a natural ability to make people join together in song and dance and in their live performances. They often note music's incredible power to unite people of all nationalities, religions, and walks of life.
