In our previous episode, we looked at how Romans 3:22 lines up perfectly with Galatians 2:16-20 and 3:22. We continued to look at the contrast between the "faith of God" (the law of Moses) and the "faith of Christ" (our body of doctrine for today.) This is the "from faith to faith" of Romans 1:17. None of the "faith of Christ" verses demonstrate that Jesus needed to have faith during his earthly ministry, as some claim. Today, using context and consistency we will continue to make our case by showing how the "faith of Christ" in Philippians 3:9 is clearly defined within the verse it is found. We will also take a closer look at the grammar in Romans 4:5. We submit that "from faith to faith" means from... ●Law to Grace ●Prophecy to Mystery ●Time Past to But Now ●Faith of God to Faith of Christ Today we will discover: ●How does "from faith to faith" relate to the context of Philippians 3:9? ●What is the exact definition of "faith of Christ" according to Philippians 3:9? ●Does Jesus need to "believe God" to be counted righteous like Abraham did? ●Who does the "his faith" belong to in Romans 4:5?" ●Where did this whole idea come from anyway? (hint- it's not the KJB) IN THIS SERIES: ●We will see who Paul was talking to and why. ●Why Paul's mention of the "day of wrath" in Romans 2 makes perfect sense in the context. ●We examine who is being spoken about regarding the "remission of sins." ●Look at some things that Paul struggled with in the flesh concerning the law and why he's even talking about the law in the first place. ●Identify where the false doctrine of Sonship Edification puts its roots in Romans 8. ●Look at some verses that Universalists use to support their false "salvation of all" claim. ●Find out what the "faith of Christ" is and what it isn't. ●We will see whether or not Gentiles are "grafted into" that Olive Tree in Chapter 11. ●Go over what we are to be "fully persuaded in our own minds" about when we go through our instructions for living life after salvation. ●Learn more about how and why Gentiles were never under the law. ●Look at how prayer works and how it doesn't work today. ●Look at today's practical application compared to how Paul addresses the Jews in the flesh in this letter. ●Go over the fact that no one outside of Paul's "dispensation of grace" enjoyed eternal security, nor were they saved by grace through faith ALONE, without works. ●Find out the who, how, and why of "marking" others. ●And we'll tie it all up with the Revelation of the Mystery which was kept secret since the world began. 👉 Our complete Romans Study Playlist: • Romans | Mid-Acts Bible Study 👉For your convenience, our complete Faith of Christ series will be saved to a separate playlist. • The Faith of Christ is What We Believ...
