  • The number of Podcasting shows has expanded greatly over the last ten years.  Terrestrial commercial radio stations are still a major force, but they do not have the impact that they once had for a number of reasons.  Commercial radio stations and podcasts are both regulated by potential advertising revue.  Broadcasters often have to regulate their messages, because they want to remain appealing to commercial sponsors who pay advertising fees to have their products and services featured on those platforms.  There are a few independent terrestrial radio stations, but there are thousands of podcasts that are non-commercial.  Fame is different because of what podcasters are willing to say.
