Trevor is an actuary, a writer, a basic income activist, a yoga teacher, a dad, a husband, a blogger, an author in the making and an interesting human with amazing stories and perspectives about his life’s journey in and outside of South Africa.
In this conversation, we wrestled with questions about happiness, travel, textbook privilege, trade-offs, money, colonisation, Universal Basic Income, inequality, slaves/indenture, the recipe/solution for the eradication of poverty, wealth, endurance, creativity, resilience, unemployment, evolution, hope, life and so much more....
Trevor John is a passionate long-term, fundamentally based, investor. He is a student of Universal Basic Income, Community Wealth Funds, and other evidence-driven explorations of universal financial security and empowerment. Trevor graduated from the University of Cape Town, with a degree in Business Science. He is a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professional. He lives in Cape Town and is a dual South African and British citizen. He works on an open-architecture platform as an Investment Actuary with Old Mutual International.
