So, when they were ready to buy their first home, they wanted it to serve as their primary residence and as a short-term rental—an exciting pursuit for them.

Then COVID hit, and everything changed. Ashley was a traveling sales professional, frequently on the road. However, at the start of the pandemic, her husband was diagnosed with a serious autoimmune disorder. In a twist of timing, Ashley’s company had just grounded the entire organization from work travel. This period, where she focused on supporting her husband and working remotely, made her realize she needed a career change. With her husband’s support, Ashley decided to step away from her corporate job and launch a business focused on short-term rentals. Their goal was simple: make it easier for everyday people to become short-term rental investors. Through this vision, extensive research, and hard work, Chalet was born.
