Award Winner: Kaori Tamura, PhD, ATC
Kaori is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Master of Science in Athletic Training at University of Hawai'i at Manoa. She is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and has completed a Doctor of Philosophy Master of Science while impacting the International vision of the profession of Athletic Training.
Growing up in Japan, she moved stateside to study Athletic Training. As a Japanese speaker, she studied this in a non-native language in living out her passion of helping others. Kaori utilizes her lived experience in communicating and investing in the international growth of the profession.

Kumiko is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Kinesiology at University of Georgia, following the completion of her PhD in Education at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
