  • #TBT: Boo-ze & Busted: The Conjuring House
    2024/11/07
We update listeners on the recent DUI arrest of The Conjuring House owner, Jaqueline Nuñez, in the days following Police Chief Stephen Lynch’s rejection of her application to renew her business license that would have allowed her to continue offering overnight accommodations for visitors to the purportedly “haunted” house. Nuñez previously fired Brian Dansereau, a former employee at The Conjuring House, in Burrillville, RI, claiming the ghost of John Arnold, deceased since the 1800s, told her that Dansereau stole $3,000 from a cash box. She also made allegations against known paranormal investigators, Cody DesBiens and Satori Hawes. Our Severed Strange Stories, Ghosted & Fired episode, covers all the details. CW | TW: This episode discusses mental health, psychiatric hospitalization, and alleged drunk driving. Listener discretion is advised. • Strange Stories: Dunkin' Danger
    2024/11/04
We roll up to a Dunkin’ drive-thru to deliver a case about needless and hapless assault on a pregnant woman, by 28-year-old, William Rodriguez, in East Haven, Connecticut. Rodriguez attempted to carjack the hapless, 4-month-pregnant woman, before sinking his teeth into a munchkin medic’s hand, while receiving treatment for the crime he perpetrated on innocent bystanders. It’s standard Severed fare with sprinkles. CW | TW: This episode discusses assault, attempted robbery, carjacking, and French crullers. American runs on Dunkin’ and danger in this episode. It’s Severed with a side of sprinkles. And, as the retro slogan goes, “Time to make the donuts!” Listener discretion is advised. • Streaming: Woman of the Hour (2024)
    2024/10/28
We discuss the recent directorial debut of Anna Kendrick in Woman of the Hour (2024) on Netflix. We explore the dating game television subgenre, 1970s dating culture, The Dating Game TV show as a metaphor for the predatory murders of serial killer, Rodney Alcala, and Kendrick’s depiction of the real-life Sheryl Bradshaw, as we note the differences between acting and performance concerning sexism and objectification of women in the ‘70s. CW | TW: This episode discusses assault, rape, and murder. Listener discretion is advised.
