  • Episode 43: Rethinking Reluctance
    2025/03/23

What can you do when reluctance shows up in your homeschooling day? As homeschoolers we always aim to foster a positive learning experience for our kids, and sometimes we need to rethink how to approach things.

Sometimes we can hold on to more than we realise when it comes to what learning is supposed to 'look like'. But, we are here to remind you that the sky is the limit in terms of approaching learning topics and it will look different for every family. Taking time to stop, reflect, and let go of what is not serving you in your learning journey is such an important part of shaping the best homeschool life for your family.

  • Episode 42 - A visit from Alfred.
    2025/03/16

This week we reflect on the visit we had from now ex tropical cyclone Alfred. We discussed the learnings that took place as homeschoolers and how thankful we felt to have this lifestyle that could quickly adapt.

Gemma is inspired by a weekend of rainy weather and shares her thoughts about a project of learning she is thinking about for next term.

Come and join us with a cuppa as we have a giggle at the lack of loo roll available and while everyone else did that Gemma panic bought something rather unusual?!

  • Episode 41 - It's all going to work out
    2025/03/09

A big shoutout to our fellow SEQ home schoolers. This episode was loaded before Alfred hit (right now he's slow and changing his mind every few hours). We hope everyone is as safe as they can be in the post effects of TC Alfred. We are hunkered down with you waiting around

This week's episode is all about the wobbly wobbles. When you have concerns that things aren't going as well as you hoped or you are feeling the hot end of burn out - just know it is going be ok.

We said we would talk about all the aspects of home schooling when we created this podcast and this episode certainly talks about the harder moments of this educational journey we have chosen for our little loves.

    Big hugs x

  • Episode 40: Learning Through Life Skills
    2025/03/02

    Learning never stops!

An average homeschool day brings with it the chance to slow down and explore learning through everyday life. These skills often look different to the 'traditional' approach to schooling, and sometimes are undervalued or overlooked. Well, homeschoolers are bringing them back!

There are so many benefits to incorporating practical life skills into your homeschooling journey, from critical thinking to problem solving, helping shape life-long and independent learners.

In this episode, we unpack a few favourite skills we've picked up as homeschoolers and explain just how much 'learning' is truly happening behind the scenes (Hint: It's a lot!)
