Strategy #1 of 7: Start Scared! (7 Simple Homeschool Strategies!)

  • サマリー

  • Thank you so much for joining me for Episode #2. If you have not yet downloaded my free guide BOOST YOUR SELF-CONFIDENCE: 7 Simple Strategies Every New Homeschool Mom Should Know then I want you to stop right here and go to learntohomeschool.com/freebie and download the guide because today’s episode is the part 1 of my 7 part series that is going to be breaking down each of those 7 strategies.

I am going to be sharing my personal stories along the way as well as provide you the simple step-by-step action steps you can take to apply these strategies to your homeschool world… so let’s get into it!

    Strategy #1: START SCARED

Time is ticking…. You know that raising kids goes by in the blink of an eye so if you keep waiting to feel “ready” you might regret letting too much time go by and wish you would have started building the education lifestyle of your dreams sooner!

Here’s the good and the bad news.. Or the bad, and then the good news.

Bad news is like that game “ready or not here I come” the school year will start, the next grade level will start, and if you don’t take action it will pass you by. The good news is this timeline will actually cause you to take action, so that’s a good thing!

WE ALL HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE and starting SCARED, starting “ready or not” is better than not starting at all

You don’t have to be a teacher to be a great homeschool Mom. Your job is to be a facilitator or coordinator of the learning and to GUIDE your student through the learning.

What you are doing is showing up for your kids because you believe in something bigger and something better that will connect you as a family and even though you’re scared… you are willing to put one foot in front of the other because you believe that on the other side of fear is…. happiness, joy, the fulfillment of knowing you met your kids' needs, you saw them for the people they are, and you steered their ship accordingly to maximize their journey

Think of it this way… you’re like the first domino full of potential energy but afraid to start the chain reaction. Without pushing past the fear, the other moments that are lined up waiting for you will never happen.

So here is the simple action step you need to take. Ask yourself “What do I need to understand, be aware of or believe to take the next step.”

Maybe it’s something very official like I need to go to Hslda.org so that I can understand homeschool laws in my state.

Or, maybe it’s…. I need to be aware that my fear is rubbing off on my kids, and making them feel anxious about homeschool.

Or, maybe you need to believe that you are capable of figuring it out as you go, that you don’t have to have it all figured out to get started, and that starting “ready or not” is better than never starting at all.

    You’ve got this!
