  • Want to retire on $105,000 P.A.? Plus leave $1,000,000 behind?
    2024/11/10
In order to retire on $105,000 p.a. in today's dollars, ensuring that this income keeps up with inflation and lasts 30 years, you really need to think about having $1,850,000 in super. Yes. It is a lot. But not unachievable. If you want these funds to last further, plus leave $1,000,000 to your loved ones, you only need another $350,000 more. This is the "sweet spot" that I will be talking more about soon, where that extra 20% or so, make a huge difference to your level of financial security. So in today's episode, I will talk about how much more aggressive you need to be with preparing to retire, with consistent, additional contributions going into your super. Please use this as a guide only, get professional personal advice from a Financial Planner and always be aware of the annual caps for super, that apply per financial year, (not calendar year). Once you put money into super, you can't get it out. So be careful! Also: If you are a small business owner. • $1,850,000 - GROW YOUR WEALTH FOR RETIREMENT (10 IDEAS)
    2024/11/03
In last week's episode I spoke about working out how much money you need in super in order to retire rich. I really focused on my worries when people use other people's averages as their own benchmark, as those averages are dangerously low. How much you need depends on how much you want to retire on, when you want to retire and how long you want that money to last. Essentially there are two figures you could use as a guide...$1,850,000 if you want to retire on $105,000 p.a. potentially lasting 30 years, using a net return of 6.5% p.a. OR $2,200,000+ if you want the same outcome, but be able to leave at least $1,000,000 in your estate. In this week's episode, I share how 2 basic strategies can help get the average Australian in their mid 40's to $1,350,000 and then share 10 more ideas to help bridge the remaining gap of $500,000. Tip No.10 is the most important one to know about if you are a small business owner. This article explains this legal tax loophole beautifully: https://www.cesmithmackay.com.au/resources/dont-forget-the-cgt-small-business-rollover Make sure you are following this show, SugarMamma's Fireplay as I will be showing you how to work towards building $2,200,000 in super for your retirement.
