Born in Nashville, Megan’s father wrote songs for legends like Ronnie Milsap, Barbara Mandrell, Hank Williams Jr, and more. By the age of 16, Megan was living in Las Vegas and performing live music professionally on the world famous Las Vegas Strip, and opening concerts for stars. In February 2017, Megan planted her roots back in her hometown of Nashville. In 2018, Megan released the highly anticipated EP, "Leather Souls" produced by Brad Hill. The project included fan favorites, “Tequila Told Me To,” “I Cuss When I Pray,” and “When My Boots Were New.” These special songs received high praise and rave reviews. 2019 was a year of milestones and came with endorsements from McPherson Guitars, Shure Microphones, & Dan Post cowboy boots. Megan played what she calls some of her “favorite shows ever” in the UK, Scotland, and Ireland. Over the course of the the next few years he worked on perfecting his songwriter ability and was in constant search for his own distinct and unique sound. Following years of experience playing on numerous stages, he has also as lent his musical talents to many different recordings. He has had several different studio projects of many different styles of music, and has been making a name for himself in the Texas music scene since the early 2000's . The once front man of the Tyler, Tx based alternative- rock band, The Papers, Alford struck out in 2010 to form a acoustic driven group known as The Kid Icarus Project. The band played every party, bar, and restaurant around the east Texas area and even had several appearances at the famed South by Southwest festival in Austin, Tx. The band went on to win best Americana Band at the 2017 East Texas Music Awards. June of 2018 Alford again went searching for different avenues to bring his music to the public. He started playing solo acoustic shows that leaned more into a soul/singer-songwriter style that seemed to fit his vocals perfectly. That same year he put out his 1st solo acoustic live record called Live Off Chilton. Following the success of that record he has released several other EPs and singles that are currently available on all streaming platforms. He is currently playing all over the state of Texas and surrounding states.

It was called "Society's Blues," and thinking back on it I can safely say it was awful. It didn't matter though. At the time it was good, and it was enough to get me interested in songwriting. Soon after I heard that song I started listening to Bob Dylan and my songwriting really started to grow after that. The years that have followed have seen me grow as an artist. I have discovered new music - Leonard Cohen, Ben Folds, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Dan Bern, Bonnie Prince Billy, The Mountain Goats, to name a few - and I've had a lot of people encouraging me along the way, and I've had a lot of great musicians who I've worked with and played with who have helped to cultivate me as an artist. I continue to grow even now and push myself to be as good as I can be at this. On stage, Mike’s earthy voice and masterful work on assorted guitars are perfectly matched by Amy’s open heart, sweet harmonies and tasty percussion and drums. Whether performing as a duo, trio or full band, with or without video display, the Aikens have a way of turning audiences into friends and performance venues into their own back porch. Together they have produced seven nationally and internationally recognized albums and appeared in concert venues, clubs and festivals across North America and Europe. Recognizing the need to pay back and pass the music on, in 2005, Mike & Amy founded the Aiken & Friends Fest benefiting music education. When not on the road, Mike turns his attention to songwriting with partners in Austin and Nashville. His travels have been well chronicled since 2005 in Americana Rhythm Magazine. Amy also heads Northwind Records, an Indie label since 2002.
