The Chronicle Take 2 (30.5) - Love Lies Bleeding

  • サマリー

  • Revenge gets ripped apart in The Chronicle Take 2, the bonus episode for The Chronicle official podcast for The Peoples Movies. As promised, Love Lies Bleeding from Rose Glass.

Thank you very much to everyone who has listened to Episode 30, which was released earlier today. Myself and Clotilde Chinnici reviewed Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver and Challengers. You can listen to that episode by clicking on the link below (if you are on The Peoples Movies) or via the podcast site you are using to listen to this new episode.

After the icy cold unholy terror of Saint Maud, the debut film by Rose Glass, we step back into 1980s New Mexico, USA. Kristen Stewart plays Lou, a gym manager leading a mundane life that is turned upside down when Jacky (Katy O’Brian) walks into the gym. Sparks fly and a full romance blossoms, but Lou has a dark past that catches up with her at the wrong times. Her father, Lou Snr (Ed Haris), just happens to be the local crimelord and Jacky’s employer.

This review was originally written for The Glasgow Film Festival and BFI Flare, and I do mention these festivals in the review.
