  • Ep 16. Jodi Krangle - Voice Artist part 2
    2023/10/26

Hello, thanks for coming back for part 2!
Continuing our conversation with Jodi Krangle.

Jodi has been working full time as a voice artist for the last 16 years and so it's safe to say she knows what she's talking about.
We begin right at the start of Jodi's career, before voice acting was even a part of it, discovering her journey as to how she finally ended up going full time.
We break down the process of working with a client and how to approach the different jobs that come along also discussing how you can take ownership of the work you do and have an influence on your career.
We cover how sound influences a listener in ways I'd never even thought of.
The similarities and differences between recording the spoken voice and singing.
And we touch on some advice to begin YOUR journey into the world of voice acting.

Jodi was so generous and open about her experiences and knowledge and I feel this episode is invaluable to other performers out there.

  • Ep 13. Rep Theatre co-hosted with Alfie French
    2023/09/04

This episode me and Alf get into the details of what rep theatre is.
Alfie having just come back and myself about to go there, its a perfect time to get perspectives of before and after working in rep theatre.

It certainly is a dying craft but arguably one of the most valuable experiences any actor can do!

  • Ep 11. Justine Bryant - Laughing In The Face Of Adversity
    2023/07/31

**CONTENT WARNING** This episode includes topics that some listeners may find upsetting. Topics include grief, death and we make light of such matters at times.

This week we are welcoming New Act Justine Bryant into the Circus. And yes this is my dear Mother.

This is a very special episode that I hold close to my heart. We discuss what it is like to live with terminal illness, the impacts that can have on those closest to us and how people process the journey differently.

We also jump back and ask questions about Justine's life from her childhood toys to the most impactful world events and we learn a little more than we did before.

This is incredibly vulnerable for us, however I feel that there is so much to take from it and we are in a position to share a part of our situation in the hopes it will spark connections between you listeners and those closest to you.

As always let me know your thoughts and thank you for listening, I appreciate you all.

For Dad, Em, Nat and all those beloved by Justine x

  • Ep 10. Emily Bryant - Psychology Student... and my sister
    2023/07/17

Hey, thanks for coming back to another Circus of Life episode.

This week we are welcoming a NEW ACT to the Circus. My sister Emily has recently achieved a first class degree in psychology and is now looking at her future ahead. We explore a little about our relationship as brother and sister and how that has changed over the years.

We also get into her experiences of university life and how that differed from my training in Musical Theatre before scratching the surface of her dissertation topic. Her dissertation addresses the lack of research and support when it comes to perfectionism and mental health. Stripping it right back, what is perfectionism? What are the components that qualify for perfectionistic traits? How do these perfectionistic subscales impact our mental health? We explore Emily's research and findings and draw some comparisons and differences to that of a Musical Theatre degree and finding some interesting points.

I found this conversation highly relatable and I believe that it will resonate with anyone in any form of education.

Until next time, all the best, all the love and I'll see you soon x
