We talked about how social media can be used for good to build and promote a successful coaching business, and how to stay true to yourself online without succumbing to superficial likes and views. Tom gives an honest account of his relationship with social media, and gives insight into some useful mechanisms of how to get the best from it for himself and his business.

  • Paralympic Champion to World Class Coach - How to build a winning team with Helen Scott
    2025/04/24

In this episode I am joined by Helen Scott MBE (Scottie), a former Paralympic and World Champion as a tandem pilot, and now Great Britain Cycling Team Podium Potential Sprint Coach.

Scottie talks us through her journey from rider to coach, and gives us an insight into how she approaches her coaching and the way in which she builds a world class team environment for riders to thrive in.

I really enjoyed this one, Scottie is a former coach of mine and the reason I got into piloting a tandem in the world of paracycling, it was a really fun podcast to record.

  • Insights into riding the Tour de France from an amateur cyclist
    2025/03/07

In this episode I speak with Dan Winn, a rider who I supported for 2 years in order to complete a huge goal of riding every single kilometre of the Tour de France route in 2023 with Le Loop. The event took in over 3500 kilometres over 3 weeks of riding, and is probably the hardest physical challenge that an amateur cyclist can undertake.

We talk with Dan about the preparation for the event, how it was juggled with family and work life, the key learnings along the way and a whole load of stories from the event itself.

This is a great listen for anyone who wants to challenge themselves physically with a big scary goal, and can hopefully help with how best to prepare!
