This week Greg is talking with Jason Walton! Most people know Jason from his involvement with Agalloch and Sculptured, but he is a brilliant composer and musician and has released tons oif music under various project names such as Moonbladder, Snares of Sixes, Self Spiller, Especially Likely Sloth and a whole plethora more that you should go check out RIGHT NOW on his Bandcamp. We had an excellent time talking about the mutual confusion both of our bands endured in the early 2000’s of being compared to each other for the simple reason of just having brass instruments in the band. This week Greg is talking with guitarist/composer Se’Nam Palmer of the band Crispin Wah. Se’Nam is amazingly gifted and technically proficient guitarist and mixes those amazing shred chops with crazy sound design to create a whole other vibe to his music which gets referred to as “shredgaze.” We talk about his history with the instrument, how he ended up growing so fond of the Shrapnel and shred movements from the 80’s, the vibrant and diverse Atlanta music scene, and much much more along with all the usual tangents.
