We are filled with impregnable strength when joy keeps its glow even under challenging circumstances. Joy generates power! 

Joy is a special wisdom. In sadness, people become blind and lose their faith.

What is required, then, is a shift in consciousness. It has been said that ‘thoughts are things,” meaning that what you pay attention to, you become. So, lower thoughts need to dissolve so new, higher thoughts can emerge.

Just a little nugget that carries a lot of truth.

As the world has become fully immersed in fear, depression, and scattered mentalities, remember that you have the power to rise above this collective experience. 

NOTE: You are not your external conditions, and Faith is not the result of striving. It's the result of surrender.

Depression can drive you to question God or feel separated from Him. In addition, it can also make navigating the Christian world more difficult. Depression can be even more difficult for Christians because of the stigmas, dogmas, and misinterpretations linked to many Christian congregations.

When you or the people you have around you don't comprehend the reality of depression, it makes seeking help difficult. Depression can distort your perception of the truth or cause you to doubt your judgment. It's essential to recognize the misconceptions about depression in Christian schooling.

BLACK HISTORY 2022 INSPIRE!

"You're pretty for a Black girl."

I was in seventh grade the first time I got that "compliment." If that's what you call it. For this and many other reasons, I grew up thinking that although my Blackness was beautiful, it only was in relativity and comparison to white beauty. Since then, I have learned to embrace, honor and love my Blackness. Through every American experience, I am a beautiful black woman created by God to leave a particular 'mark' on this planet. 

I am who I am supposed to be, and that's a beautiful feeling!

To live in your truth can mean many different things. Intuitively, you know what it feels like. But putting it into words can be tough. Based on the changing events in your life, living in your truth may manifest in a number of ways:

• Making decisions founded on love rather than fear;
• Living according to your values;
• Saying no when you mean no, and saying yes when you mean yes;
• Placing self-expression over the fear of judgment;
• Getting your sense of power and self-worth from within;
• Honoring your inner gut and intuition alongside your rational thinking;
• Witnessing your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs as temporary experiences and not who you are.

‍How you make everyday decisions often shows whether or not you’re being true to yourself.

Your hiding place is in His Presence.
God's presence is your hiding place; in those present moments with Him, you choose to surrender all your troubling thoughts. And in exchange, God surrounds and encompasses you with songs of rescue and freedom.
