The Frost Report

著者: Jumpin Jack Frost
  • サマリー

  • The world has turned on its axis over the past 12 months and every human on planet Earth has been affected, somehow. But there are challenges that have been affecting society, way before a virus changed how we think. These issues have been tucked away, but it’s time for them to be voiced again. Are you ready? Are you ready to join me in a quiet corner of Little Venice, where I am having some deep conversations with some friends of mine- and these conversations are not going to be easy. Racism, youth crime, mental health...all those things we need to get out there and talk about, but we don’t know where to start. Join me for a series of debates on The Frost Report. They won’t be comfortable subjects but they will be spoken about.

    2022/11/11
How many of you can admit to having ever thought “Why is she being like that”, whether it be about your mother, sister, a partner or even a friend, can you relate to times when you thought they were being unnecessarily “moody” or “irritable” or “too quiet”? Growing up in a female dominant household, I can remember the times when these thoughts crossed my mind, and even as a grown adult I find myself presented with scenario’s that lead me to ask this question. Of course, there are so many reasons as to why somebody might be behaving in a certain way, and as human beings, we learn understanding and empathy for others and whatever challenges they may face, however, one thing that we often don’t learn, is how we can best navigate menopause. Menopause is something that affects all women, and in turn, can indirectly affect the family, friends and even the colleagues of those who are going through it. Looking back at my life, and having discussed this recently with other male friends and colleagues, I have found that there has generally been a lack of discussion on menopause, and this has led to an absence of knowledge and understanding. Also, of note, is that many females I spoke to also felt that there was a lack of education for them as they grew into women. As children we had had sex education, and lessons in our personal health and social care, and were given an understanding of menstruation. Thinking about this now, I personally feel that having a discussion about the menopause would also have been of benefit to myself, and to the women I know who have been and are going through it. I am not entirely sure why we are so lacking in dialogue surrounding such an important topic, but one thing which I am sure of, is that having a broader understanding of the menopause would not only help all women to prepare and navigate this often difficult time, educating a broader society would give us a better understanding, and in turn be able to be emphatic and better support. • 8: The Frost Report - Episode 8 - Drug Addiction and Mental Health
    2022/05/18
This Episode we talk openly with Daniella Westbrook, Daniella Westbrook, Paul Danan and Chalkie White who don't hold back on their experiences.

An estimated 1 in 11 adults aged 16 to 59 years old had taken a drug in the last year (9.4%; approximately 3.2 million people and around one in five adults aged 16 to 24 years old had taken a drug in the last year (21%; approximately 1.3 million people).

Drug use is prevalent in our society and causes irreparable damage to families, relationships, and can also result in death. Drug-related deaths in England and Wales have risen for the eighth year in a row and remain at their highest level in more than a quarter of a century, figures show.

There were 4,561 deaths related to drug poisoning registered in England and Wales in 2020, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

This is the highest number since records began in 1993, and up 3.8% from the previous year.

On this podcast we have spoken openly and honestly with courage and bravery about the personal impact of drug use on their lives.

I am hoping anyone listening to this podcast can learn and be reassured that you can survive drug use.
